NextGen Label Group has announced a planned leadership transition within its technical department, with chief technical cfficer Paul Roux set to retire at the end of 2026 and Anton Ali appointed as his successor.

Roux joined Syracuse Label as VP of development over 20 years ago. Following the 2022 merger of Syracuse Label with W.N. Van Alstine & Sons (Macaran and Van Alstine divisions), he was appointed chief technical officer of NextGen Label Group. Throughout his tenure, Roux has guided technical advancements and customer growth initiatives across the organization.

In his role as CTO, Roux’s leadership, deep technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to innovation have been instrumental in shaping the company’s technical vision and strengthening its position as an industry leader.

“Paul’s contributions over the past two decades have been exceptional,” says Dan Rosenbaum, president & CEO of NextGen Label Group. “His leadership has advanced our technical capabilities, strengthened key customer partnerships, and positioned NextGen Label Group for long-term success. We are deeply grateful for his impact and look forward to celebrating his accomplishments.”

“It has been an honor to work alongside so many talented employee-owners throughout my career,” comments Roux. “I am proud of what we have built together and grateful for the relationships formed along the way. NextGen Label Group has an incredibly bright future, and I am confident Anton’s leadership will continue to strengthen our technical capabilities and support our customers for years to come.”

As part of its strategic succession planning, NextGen Label Group also announced the appointment of Anton Ali as vice president of technical services, effective May 4, 2026. Anton will work closely with Roux through the remainder of the year to ensure a seamless transition and will assume the role of chief technical officer upon Paul’s retirement. The transition reflects NextGen Label Group’s long-term commitment to leadership development, technical excellence, and uninterrupted support for customers across all markets served, the company says.

Anton Ali joins NextGen Label Group after leading global packaging engineering and supply chain strategy at Google. He brings more than 20 years of experience in packaging and materials science, with a proven track record of leadership, innovation, and operational excellence.

Prior to his time at Google, Anton served as technical director at Hammer Packaging (now part of MCC), where he led package engineering, field service teams, and research and development initiatives supporting consumer packaged goods brands. He brings deep expertise across labeling, packaging materials, printing technologies, and supply chain strategy, positioning him to lead NextGen Label Group’s technical organization into its next phase of growth and innovation.

“We are confident that Anton’s forward-looking leadership and technical expertise will build upon the strong foundation Paul has established,” adds Rosenbaum. “We are excited about the future of NextGen Label Group under his leadership.”

“NextGen Label Group has built exceptional technical capabilities and a reputation for customer partnership,” says Ali. “I look forward to working alongside our employee-owners across all locations to continue advancing innovation, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering solutions that help our customers succeed.”
